Responsible for communicating with cross-functional Software development Teams to create processes related to automation to reduce manual work or to build software products and automation tools related to Transmission Engineering.
Responsible for coordinating with cross-functional teams i.e. RF, Core & OSP to design, and troubleshoot wireless communication systems and develop automated tools that meet performance, coverage, and compliance standards.
Research, design and troubleshoot Telecommunication Transmission network based on 3GPP and ETSI standards.
Responsible for performing Transmission and microwave planning and design tasks for backhaul networks, including both TDM and IP/MPLS systems, and building VRFs to migrate TDM traffic to IP/MPLS, ensuring compatibility with OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, MPLS, VLAN, BGP, QoS (RFC 2544), and VPNs.
Plan transport network backhaul capacity and traffic, including SONET/SDH/DWDM, T3/DS3, T1/DS1, and DS0s. Check bandwidth requirements per site with respect to the spectrum and associated technology (2G/4G/5G).
Responsible for radio path calculations, antenna sizing, frequency planning, and microwave path analysis. Plot new sites into the existing network using Pathloss v5.1, Link Planner, MapInfo, Global Mapper, Google Earth, and QGIS.
Design 2G, 4G(LTE), and 5G transmission and microwave network solutions, including creating detailed documentation for new and existing sites. Integrate new links and resolve transmission and microwave faults to restore outages for 2G, 4G, and 5G services.
Perform upgrades of 2G, 4G (LTE), and 5G services from electrical to optical ports by running automation scripts. Configure fiber nodes for newly integrated sites to support capacity expansion in coordination with the fiber team. Execute desktop planning from existing or new fiber nodes to meet current bandwidth criteria, or propose a microwave (MW) topology based on bandwidth limitations of the existing fiber nodes.
Configure and deploy Aviat microwave radios, routers, switches, and firewalls in the MPLS network. Support IP transport systems for RF signaling.
Conduct Line of Sight (LOS) analysis through desktop surveys and perform site visits as per customer guidelines.Assign tasks to the field team for physical LOS verification and RFAI surveys (including space and power requirements, access issues, etc.) and generate transmission RFDS, CIQs, and BOMs.
Support Mean Down Time(MDT) and cutover activities during the migration of old microwave links to new ones.
